Subscription video on-demand streaming service Disney+ Hotstar is now available in Indonesia.
Starting today, viewers can enjoy more than 500 movies and 7,000 episodes of global and Disney+ original content. This includes Marvel Studio films, all 12 Star Wars films, Pixar Animation Studio films, National Geographic documentaries, Disney’s live-action movies such as The Lion King and Aladdin, Disney+ original content such as The Mandalorian and Lady and the Tramp (2019), Disney Channel and Disney Junior series, as well as popular series like The Simpsons and Lost.
Along with more than 300 Indonesian films available on the service, including the newly released Sabar Ini Ujian, Disney+ Hotstar will also feature films made by PT Screenplay Bumilangit Produksi, PT Falcon, PT Frontera Inter Media, PT Kharisma Starvision Plus, PT MD Pictures, PT Rapi Film and PT Tiga Belas Entertainment.
Thirteen upcoming Indonesian films will go straight to Disney+ Hotstar, including Benyamin Biang Kerok 2, Malik & Elsa, Warkop DKI Reborn 4 and Once Upon A Time in Indonesia.
The subscription price is Rp 39,000 (US$2.64) per month or Rp 199,000 per year.
The service is available on its official website or the Disney+ Hotstar app on Android and iOS.
To mark the official launch of Disney+ Hotstar, Indonesian viewers without a subscription can watch several films for free until Sept. 30, including Thor: Ragnarok, Cars 3, Cinderella (2015), Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Bao (short film) and Titanic : 20 Years Later With James Cameron (Special).
In memory of the late actor Chadwick Boseman, the streaming platform is also featuring Black Panther for free until Sept. 30. Boseman, who played the first Black superhero T’Challa in the groundbreaking film, passed away on Aug. 29 after battling colon cancer since 2016. (wng)
