The exchange’s index maintenance sub-committee said that apart from fulfilling the criteria of ranking within top 800 based on both average daily turnover and average daily full market capitalization based on previous six months period data, the companies will also need to satisfy new criteria for inclusion in Nifty 500 indices.
Following are the exclusions from and inclusions to the NSE 500 index from September 25.
These include that the investible weight factor (IWF) of stock should be at least 0.10 (10 per cent free float) or the six-month average free float market capitalization of the stock should be at least 25 per cent of the 6 month average full-market capitalization of the existing smallest index constituent by full market capitalization in Nifty 500 as of the cut-off date.
It also announced the new criteria for inclusion in Nifty 100 and Nifty Midcap 150 indices.
