All entertainment activities in Dubai will have to conclude by 1am as part of precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, officials have announced.

The news was announced via a circular that was issued by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to all hotel establishments, venues, events, conferences, organisers and retailers in the emirate.

Under the new regulations, hotels will also have to suspend the provision of food and beverage services after 3am, with the exception of delivery and room services.

The measures took effect from Thursday, September 24, and come after the UAE has reported a rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.

The circular urged all operators and venues to adhere to the measures to avoid any “consequential procedures and violations”.

The UAE has been clamping down on businesses that are failing to adhere to Covid-19 safety measures.

Several establishments have been fined, while some have been shut down in Dubai after they were found breaching the guidelines.

The UAE registered 851 additional Covid-19 infections on Sunday, taking the total number of infections in the country to 91,469.

The total death toll in the country has reached 412.
