For the second time this week, Delhi-NCR felt tremors from an earthquake in Nepal.
On Saturday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Nepal round 7.57 pm, at a depth of round 10 km, and 212 km southeast of Joshimath in Uttarakhand, based on the National Centre for Seismology. Tremors have been additionally felt in elements of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Nepal, the epicentre of the quake was in Bajhang.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 had hit Nepal within the early hours of Wednesday with tremors being felt in Delhi-NCR then as nicely. Six folks died within the earthquake that hit Nepal on Wednesday.
Earlier on Saturday, the Pauri Garhwal area of Uttarakhand recorded a smaller earthquake of magnitude 3.4 round 4.25 pm.
Residents of Delhi-NCR took to Twitter to explain sturdy tremors that lasted for a number of seconds. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “I hope everybody is safe.”
Delhi falls in seismic zone IV, based on the seismic zone map of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Zone IV contains areas which can be the second most energetic seismically, zone V being essentially the most energetic.
