Hardoi, UP: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday launched a scathing attack at Congress saying that it’s no different than the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the two operate in the same manner.
“Investigation of ED and CBI that is going on against us and other leaders is because of Congress only. There is no difference between them (BJP and Congress). Congress is the BJP and the BJP is Congress,” ANI quoted the Samajwadi Party chief as saying in UP’s Hardoi.
Hitting out at the BJP, Akhilesh said that the law and order situation has deteriorated under the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh and people will throw the saffron party out of power in the next elections.
“BJP leaders say they follow the footprints of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel but today farmers are in distress and their income is not doubled. Law and order situation is in the worst state in UP. Hence people of UP has decided to throw BJP out of power,” the former UP chief minister said.
His remarks against Congress came hours after, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi slammed the SP and the BSP saying that these parties don’t stand with people in times of need.
“They (SP & BSP) say Congress is working in collusion with BJP. I want to ask: why don’t they stand with you in your tough times. Only Congress is fighting. I will die but never have any kind of relationship with BJP,” Priyanka said during Pratigya Rally’ in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi Adityanath’s bastion.
