Eels coach Brad Arthur has revealed star halfback Mitch Moses is “a good chance” of returning from a finger injury this week.

Meanwhile, there’s mixed messages surrounding the fitness of Latrell Mitchell after he left training early with a groin complaint.

The Panthers could be set for a huge fullback boost and Titans coach Justin Holbrook has a big headache on his hands with a young gun itching for a return.

Team Tips: Latrell Mitchell left training early on Monday with his right groin iced according to the SMH. The star fullback was said to have immediately consulted club medical staff before taking no further part. Coach Jason Demetriou said his marquee man was “just resting” due to the back-to-back short turnarounds. “We’ve got back-to-back short turnarounds, he had his biggest numbers for the season on the weekend (against Parramatta) in terms of running loads, so we’re just resting him up,” Demetriou said. “He got through the main stuff defensively that we wanted him to get through. It wasn’t worth risking him. He’s tight there (in the groin), and when they’re tight we won’t push it.” Mitchell suggested he would miss the grand final rematch, saying in an Instagram comment that the “Ferrari in tha (sic) garage,” however News Corp journalist Phil Rothfield told NRL 360 that he received a message from Mitchell’s manager, Mat Rose, who said he is “OK.” Meanwhile, young gun Lachlan Ilias is a strong chance of returning after suffering a hamstring injury in training last week. Fox Sports News’ Cody Kaye revealed Ilias has been “moving freely” and is expected to play.

Demetriou praised Dean Hawkins who filled in at halfback and Souths could opt to rest their key playmaker for another week. Star centre Campbell Graham will also return from a facial injury according to the SMH, after completing training in his preferred position. Tom Burgess will also return after suffering a groin injury and could displace Mark Nicholls or Davvy Moale off the bench.
