England were bowled out for 313 in their second innings at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday, setting the West Indies a victory target of 200 runs in the first Test. Hosts England resumed their innings at 284-8 — a lead of 170 — with tail-enders Jofra Archer and Mark Wood at the crease but the overnight pair failed to offer much resistance. Wood was the first to be dismissed, edging paceman Shannon Gabriel to wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich as England were reduced to 303-9. Archer, who had taken England past the 300-run mark with a cracking cover drive off skipper Jason Holder, became Gabriel’s fifth victim of the innings as he edged a short-pitched ball to the keeper when on 23. Gabriel finished with figures of 5-75 — his sixth five-wicket haul in Tests — while Roston Chase and Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets apiece.

An exciting Day 5 is on the cards. Jason Holder and his men are making their way to the middle. Jofra archer and Mark Wood are at the crease. England have a lot of hope from Wood and archer today. Can they put on a decent partnership and help England put on a solid lead against the West Indies today?

We are headed into an exciting final day of the contest with the match beautifully poised between the two teams.
After Zak Crawley (76) and Dom Sibley’s (50) notable resistance on the penultimate day, it was a late burst from the Windies seamers that has put the visitors a bit ahead in the competition.
With Shannon Gabriel (3/62) leading the attack in the second innings, others too struck in unison for the West Indies as they pegged back England in the final session to put the hosts at 284/8 at stumps with a lead of 170 runs.
Windies will now eye to wrap up the England tailenders quickly and set themselves a chasable target on the final day of the match.
