Europe’s Euclid house telescope blasted off Saturday, kicking off a first-ever mission to make clear two of the universe’s best mysteries: darkish power and darkish matter.
“I can tell you, I’m so thrilled, I’m so excited to see this mission up in space,” European Space Agency (ESA) Director General Josef Aschbacher mentioned after the launch.
The telescope efficiently took off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 11:12 a.m. native time (3:12 p.m. GMT) on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
