EVO Entertaiment is extending its summer drive-in film festival with a double-feature of “Valley Girl” and “April Fool’s Day.”
Actress Deborah Foreman, who starred in both movies, will attend the screenings Aug. 28 at EVO’s theater in Schertz.
The cult favorite “Valley Girl,” released in 1983, is a Romeo and Juliet story set in the San Fernando Valley. Foreman stars as a pretty-in-pink, mall-prowling teen who falls for a rocker from the city played by a young Nicolas Cage. The movie is full of totally tubular dialogue and music by the Plimsouls, the Psychedelic Furs and Modern English.
In the 1986 slasher film “April Fool’s Day,” Foreman is Muffy, the host of a spring break party for her college classmates. It’s all fun, games and practical jokes until someone starts picking off the partygoers.
