Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G launch is right around the corner and high-resolution renders of the next-gen foldable smartphone haven’t been revealed yet. Until now, that is. MySmartPrice has received high-resolution renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G smartphone from a trusted source, revealing its design from all angles. The smartphone will come in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze colours and the device will some design upgrades to offer over the first-generation Samsung Galaxy Fold, especially the punch-hole design that replaces the huge notch that was seen in the first model.
The renders show the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G will have a familiar design with a book-like folding mechanism. It will have a much larger Cover display on the outside than its predecessor and have an Infinity-O punch-hole display on both the inside and the outside to maximise the screen real estate. Of course, there’s no notch and even the bezels are much slimmer than before, meaning Samsung has been able to squeeze bigger displays in a relatively compact body. We can see the triple camera setup on the back will be vertically aligned and flanked by a LED flash; the entire camera housing will protrude slightly from the rest of the back panel. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G hinge design also looks better, albeit a little thicker at first glance.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is the least leaked of the products that Samsung will be unveiling at the August 5th launch event. One of the more interesting things about the smartphone, apart from its all its foldable goodness, is its name – the smartphone will come with Z branding, suggesting that the Z lineup will include all of the brand’s future foldable smartphones.
Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G have also leaked ahead of the August 5th launch event. According to the rumour mill, the smartphone will come with a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED Cover display and a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED primary foldable display with 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to pack a triple camera setup with 64MP + 12MP + 12MP sensors on the back, while a 10MP camera is reportedly on the inner, foldable screen. Then there’s the storage capacity, which is said to go up to 512GB. As the name suggests, it will support 5G connectivity. There will two batteries inside the smartphone with a combined capacity of 4,356mAh and 15W wireless and 15W reverse charging support.
As for the price, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is said to cost $1,980, which is pretty much what the first-generation Galaxy Fold cost at the time of launch.
