Central Columbia defeated Lewisburg, 28-7, to open the season with a win. The Blue Jays built a 21-0 lead going into the half.
Lewisburg had success on the ground, rushing for 170 yards as a team as Max Moyers led the way with 82 rushing yards and a touchdown.
The Green Dragons’ lone touchdown came with 6 minutes, 17 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter when Moyers scored on a 17 yard run to cut the deficit to 21 points.
Selinsgrove scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters en route to a convincing 42-6 rout over Milton to kickoff the 2020 season.
The Black Panthers had just 82 rushing yards and were held to 74 passing yards.
Jackson Valladares led Milton with 69 rushing yards. Ethan Rowe went 10 for 19 with 74 passing yards, but did throw an interception. Rowe scored the Black Panthers’ touchdown on a 1-yard run late in the second quarter that cut the deficit to 21 points. But just 13 seconds later, Selinsgrove’s Nate Aument returned the kickoff 84 yards to build back a 28-point lead.
Cooper Kitchen scored on a 5-yard run to give Canton an exciting 34-28 win against Troy on the road.
Kitchen had 165 passing yards and threw for three touchdowns, including two in the final four minutes of the fourth quarter to force overtime.
