Former Indian opener and cricket commentator, Aakash Chopra was allegedly duped of Rs 33 lakhs by cricket shoe businessman Kamlesh Parikh and his son Dhruv Parikh within the title of investing in a sports activities sneakers enterprise.

An FIR was registered below part 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after a grievance was filed by the previous Indian cricketer.

The TOI report further quoted the FIR where the former cricketer alleged that he spoke to Dhruv’s father, Kamlesh who promised to honour the agreement on his son’s behalf. On failing to do so, legal notices were served but the father-son due completely cut-off communication thereby making it difficult to recover the principal amount, Rs 33.3 lakh.

In connection to the incident, SHO Arvind Kumar told TOI that documents and evidence provided by the complainant are currently being examined.

“Further action will be taken following investigation. The accused will also be called for questioning”, Kumar added.

This was not the primary case of dishonest lodged in opposition to the Parikhs. In February this 12 months, father of cricketer Deepak Chahar lodged a grievance of dishonest in opposition to Kamlesh and his son, following which an FIR was lodged in opposition to them.

An allegation of duping Rs 10 lakh was made by Jaya Bhardwaj, spouse of Deepak Chahar who claimed that it was performed below the guise of a enterprise enterprise.
