A fan-favourite for several Indian cricket lovers, Sanju Samson, has arrived in Zimbabwe for the 3-match ODI series. Ahead of the start of the cricketing assignment in Harare, Samson was asked some intriguing rapid-fire questions. While the wicket-keeper batter managed to dodge a few questions efficiently, he answered a few others in a straightforward manner.
In one of the questions, Samson was asked to pick between football greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Though Samson maintained that he admire both of them equally, he admitted to be favouring the Argentine just a little bit more than the Portuguese.
When it came to picking the ‘favourite sporting personality’, Samson said that he has had quite a few such great sporting personalities with whom he has played. The one that remains at the top is MS Dhoni.

In the Q&A Sanju Samson also revealed that his nickname ‘Babbu’ isn’t known to anyone. When asked about the food that he loves but cannot eat now, his answer was ‘chocolates’.

Samson is expected to fight with Ishan Kishan for the wicket-keeper’s spot in the 3-match ODI series. Both the players aren’t absolutely central to India’s plans in ODIs but are looking to make their mark to warrant a more prominent role in the team.
Both Kishan and Sanju are in the same boat at present, with Rishabh Pant being the No. 1 choice wicket-keeper.

In fact Kishan was recently asked about his views on the choices made by the selectors. The young wicket-keeper batter gave quite a mature response.

“I feel that what selectors do is fair. They put a lot of thought while selecting players as to who should be given the opportunity and where. It is a positive for me because if I am not selected, I will work harder and score more runs. When selectors will have confidence in me, they will obviously keep me in the team,” Kishan told ANI at an event in Patna last week.
