CORTLAND — East Palestine junior Marissa Geiss topped local runners by placing fifth at the Billy Goat Challenge on Saturday.

Geiss was fifth out of 116 girls runners in the small-school division at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds.

Teammates Hannah Cunningham, Jaylene Jackson and Hope Figley were 10th, 13th and 17th, respectively, as the Bulldogs raced to a third-place finish.
