Guests staying on the Radisson resort heard a loud noise at 5.45am that gave the impression of a bomb, one witness instructed German information channel n-tv.

More than 100 police and hearth brigade staff had been on the scene.

The attraction, known as the Aquadom, was the world’s largest freestanding cylindrical tank.

Water flooded from the advanced, which additionally holds a museum, retailers and cafes, into Karl Liebknecht Strasse, a serious street, which was closed after the incident.

The Radisson stated: “The aquarium of the Aquadom Berlin which is located in the Radisson Collection hotel, Berlin, collapsed.

“As far as we all know to this point, no company had been injured and along with the authorities we’re trying into the reason for the incident.

“We have immediately closed the hotel until further notice and are relocating guests.”
