DULUTH, MN — The Glensheen Mansion has created a safe way to celebrate the summer in Duluth.

As a way to offer its usual entertainment, the 12-acre attraction held its first night of free grounds admission.

The mansion reopened for tours a month ago but held off on entertainment.

On Wednesday night, the first night of live music, along with food stands and socially-distanced campfires, kicked off on the historic grounds.

Director Dan Hartman said Glensheen is the perfect property to allow for social distancing.

“You can get away from everybody and see things you’re probably not going to see anywhere else in Duluth,” said Hartman. “It’s more about the place, and everyone just kind of having a space to be by themselves, separated from others.”

While visitors will be able to social-distance while on the grounds of Glensheen, Hartman said masks are encouraged.

The event will be held every Wednesday through August.
