It’s official, the 16th annual Sunday Times Gen Next Awards results were announced online and Gold Reef City (GRC) is the coolest local entertainment place in South Africa.

GRC is in good company this year with other high-end brands as winners in these annual awards which showcase the leading youth brand preferences.

An excited Feron Somiah, Gold Reef City’s marketing manager elaborated on the win by saying:

“Having placed second last year, winning this year just highlights the outstanding offerings we have at Gold Reef City.

“While some of our entertainment is not yet open due to Covid-19 restrictions, Gold Reef City will continue to provide our guests with the most thrilling entertainment experience possible while observing strict hygiene protocols.

“As a team we are humble to take the first place. As one of the of the biggest theme parks in Africa, we supersede what the continent offer in terms of entertainment, that is why we constantly upgrade our rides and put in new ones.”

GRC has been shut down due to Covid-19 for three months, although they have partially opened the casino side with an exciting array of mouth-watering meals available at their restaurants and fast food outlets.

Their world class Lyric Theatre and Victorian train station-themed [email protected] cinema complex remain closed until regulations allow for bigger gatherings.
