RAPID CITY, S.D. — Plans for the Central States Fair continue to unfold with adjustments coming along the way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All previously scheduled concerts have been postponed with plans of rescheduling to take place in 2021.
The grandstand concerts will feature nationally recognized cover bands along with regional favorites.
“We are fortunate to have so much talent in our region and are grateful to be able to feature them on stage”, says Ron Jeffries, the General Manager of the Central States Fair. “It may not be fair-as-usual, but for those that choose to attend we guarantee they will have a great time!”
The fair will start on Friday, August 21 with Supercross Races as well as the Mountain States Demolition Derby on Saturday, August 22. On Tuesday, August 25, Octane Addictions, a motorcycle freestyle show that features nationally known motorcycle jumpers who will conduct 100 backflips in a single show.
On Sunday, August 23, a musical performance will feature ZZ-3, followed by Long Run, a group of talented of Colorado based-musicians dedicated to the music of The Eagles. Brandon Jones will then release Black Hills Backroads. The show will conclude with Dirty Word featuring “The Voice” Finalist Kat Perkins.
“This lineup of tribute bands and regional artists will bring the most hits from the 70’s, 80’s and today, both rock and country, to the stage,” says Jeffries. “We’re Rockin’ the Arena”.
After the PRCA rodeo Range Days Rodeo starts on Wednesday and runs through Friday and Saturday, the return of the Xtreme Broncs finals will the top 24 bronc riders in the world.
Individual tickets are available online and will increase by $5 when the fair begins.
The fair begins on August 21-30.
