Community grants for not-for-profit organizations in northern B.C. will assist ship providers so individuals will be extra lively, artistic and culturally related.
“People’s lives are enhanced by the sports, arts and cultural programming that not-for-profit organizations offer throughout British Columbia,” stated Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs. “Healthy, vibrant communities are key to a healthy, vibrant province and these grants are one way our government is helping people in communities thrive.”
The Province is supporting 46 not-for-profit organizations in northern B.C. which can be targeted on arts and tradition, with greater than $1.3 million in Community Gaming Grants. The funding will assist individuals take part in a spread of actions, reminiscent of theatre and music, in addition to entry cultural centres and museums.
Examples of tasks being supported by arts and tradition funding in northern B.C. embrace:
- visible artwork reveals and academic packages on the Terrace Art Gallery;
- reveals, collections and archives on the Haida Gwaii Museum; and
- French-language cellular library with books and DVDs offered by the Association des Francophones et Francophiles du Nord-Ouest.
The Province can also be serving to 83 not-for-profit organizations in northern B.C. which can be devoted to sports activities, with greater than $2 million in Community Gaming Grants. The funding will assist individuals take part in a wide range of actions, reminiscent of soccer, swimming, hockey, gymnastics or wheelchair sports activities.
Examples of actions receiving sport funding in northern B.C. embrace:
- younger individuals studying to skate or enhance their expertise and likewise becoming a member of leisure and aggressive determine skating packages by way of the Northern BC Centre for Skating Association in Prince George;

The mixed funding is a part of $140 million distributed yearly to not-for-profit organizations that ship providers and make life higher for individuals all through British Columbia.
