Tulsi is called the Queen of Herbs and protects our body from various diseases. Multiple studies have shown that consumption of tulsi leaves on an empty stomach has shown to lower blood glucose levels in people suffering from type 2 diabetes.
Tulsi leaves are also said to prevent cardiovascular disease by lowering lipid content, suppressing ischemia, stroke and reducing hypertension.
Note: Tulsi contains a high amount of mercury and iron, which is released when we chew them. These minerals can damage the teeth and cause discolouration. Tulsi leaves are acidic in nature, which can cause tooth enamel to wear away when consumed in very large quantities.
Thus, it’s best to blend these leaves in a mixer with some water and then have it.
