The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers to avoid purchasing imported peaches following salmonella concerns.
On Saturday, an american recall was issued for various brands of fresh peaches from Prima Wawona, located in Fresno, California.
Peaches were sold individually and in packages between June 1 to August 22 in Canadian grocery stores. Health Canada says Canadian peaches with the same PLU numbers are not affected by this recall.
An investigation by the CFIA is underway, which may lead to further recalls. Public Health is currently investigating an outbreak of illness in humans.
Anyone who has purchased these products should throw them out or return them to stores.
