The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is alerting the public to a high-risk exposure incident involving a local Springfield adult entertainment establishment.
SGCHD officials said four employees at Showtime Joe’s, an adult entertainment establishment at 2209 West Sunshine in Springfield, have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees worked between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. on the following dates:
- Wednesday, September 2
- Friday, September 4
- Saturday, September 5
- Monday, September 7
- Tuesday, September 8
- Wednesday, September 9
- Friday, September 11
- Saturday, September 12
SGCHD officials report that the employees and patrons were “inconsistently masked.” Health department officials say that anone who was within six feet of a staff member for more than 15 minutes, or who engaged in any physical contact for any length of time with employees on those dates, should self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of their contact.
The health department says the exposures are high-risk because of the inconsistent masking and close contact.
The Springfield Police Department is investigating with the health department the lack of masking in the establishment. There had been no masking complaints filed against Showtime Joe’s before this incident.
