QUINCY (WGEM) — The Adams County Health Department reported Thursday it has been notified of public exposure to COVID-19 at the Tower of Pizza and Mexican in Quincy.

Health officials stated anyone who visited Tower of Pizza and Mexican on July 31 or August 1 should monitor their health and watch for symptoms. Individuals experiencing symptoms should seek testing.

The Adams County Health Department stated it is working with the Tower to provide guidance and help to mitigate this situation and stop the spread of COVID-19.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness.

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure of the virus:

• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea

The Adams County Health Department also reported 17 new test-positive cases of COVID-19 in Adams County on Thursday:

• 1 male, 10-19 years old
• 4 females in their 20s
• 1 male in his 30s
• 2 males in their 40s
• 2 males in their 50s
• 1 female in her 50s
• 1 male in his 60s
• 2 females in their 60s
• 1 female in her 70s
• 1 female in her 80s
• 1 female in her 90s

Health officials reported Thursday a total of 471 test-positive cases in Adams County, with 113 of those being active.

Health officials reported the preliminary seven-day positivity for cases as a percent of total tests given is at 4.66%.

Currently, there are 14 individuals hospitalized in Adams County with one of those in ICU.

Adams County has had five COVID-19 related deaths.

The Adams County Health Department continues to urge the community to do their part to reduce the spread of the virus.
