APPLETON NORTH 35, OSHKOSH WEST 7

APPLETON – Matthew Schecklman completed 17-of-18 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown to lead the Lightning over the Wildcats.

Alex Heran was Schecklman’s favorite target, hauling in 10 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Roman Martell connected with Jasiah Williams on a 5-yard pass for Oshkosh West’s lone score of the game in the second quarter.

KIMBERLY 45, FOND DU LAC 17

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers got a tremendous performance from their ground game and three interceptions from the defense in remaining undefeated in the Fox Valley Association and overall.

Kimberly (7-0, 5-0) led the Cardinals 14-10 after the first quarter, but outscored Fondy 31-7 the rest of the way with the team’s ground game pounding the Cardinals defense.

Colin Obermann had a fantastic night, running for 180 yards on 16 carries. He scored on a 53-yard run and also took back a kickoff 95 yards for a score.

Blake Barry added 108 yards on seven carries and scored on runs of 21 and 14 yards.

“I thought we really got the run game going,” Kimberly coach Steve Jones said. “Give a lot of credit to our offensive line because they came in pretty inexperienced and I think they’re starting to jell at the right time and our backs are running really, really well.

“Both Obermann and Blake Barry are running lights out. So that was fun to see and then having a little bit of a balanced attack with the weapons we have on the edge with our wide receivers.”

Brayden Eigenbrodt had 13 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown to lead Fond du Lac (4-3, 3-2).

KAUKAUNA – Noah Hofmann and Hunter Natrop scored two rushing touchdowns each to power the Ghosts to a win over the Rockets.

Natrop rushed for 81 yards and Hofmann rushed for 61.

Owen Maas recovered a fumble in the end zone and Garrett Weyenberg threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Carson Sippel to add to the Kaukauna lead.

Sippel reeled in two passes for 62 yards and a touchdown to pace the Ghosts in receiving.

MENASHA 49, MANITOWOC 7

MENASHA – AJ Korth passed for 151 yards, rushed for 92 yards and accounted for four touchdowns to lead the Bluejays to a blowout win over the Ships.

Korth threw a 19-yard touchdown pass and rushed for scores of 5, 7 and 32 yards.

Davontre Smith rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns to pace Menasha on the ground.

Chase Parker scored on a 50-yard touchdown run for the Bluejays.

WRIGHTSTOWN 27, MARINETTE 19

MARINETTE – Eli Nelson passed for 194 yards and Jacob Van Zeeland rushed for 76 yards to lead the Tigers to the win over the Marines.

Adam Lemery dominated the offensive numbers for Marinette, rushing for 141 yards on 31 carries.

Wrightstown finished with 350 yards of offense while Marinette had 209.

BONDUEL – Noah Weier threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Benett Engel in the first quarter and Bonduel’s defense took care of the rest as it went on to win in shutout fashion.

Engel racked up 103 rushing yards and 23 receiving yards to lead the Bears’ offense.

Cole Rosenow caught five passes for 93 yards to pace Clintonville.

Bonduel’s defense limited Clintonville’s offense to minus-3 rushing yards.

FOX VALLEY ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT (THURSDAY)

APPLETON – Neenah took first place in all seven flights to win its ninth consecutive conference championship.

Kimberly took second place and Oshkosh West was third.

Ava Dunsirn was the winner at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Julia Gurholt of Kimberly. Liz Risgaard won No. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ella Nguyen of Oshkosh West.

Annalise Zenzick won at No. 3 singles with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Keagan Potter of Oshkosh West, and Izzy Murray won No. 4 singles with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Anika Larson of Oshkosh West.

At No. 1 doubles, Sophia Paape and Shelby Roth defeated JeanMarie Lorentz and Abby Ostermann of Kimberly 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Meghan Stielow and Nora Paape won 6-3, 6-0 over Divya Chintamani and Sophie Mckown of Appleton North. At No. 3 doubles, Paige Stielow and Maddie Daharsh beat Hadley Berendsen and Casdyn Thomas of Kimberly 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.

BOYS SOCCER

FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN 5, WINNECONNE 2

APPLETON – Ben Riehle led the Foxes with two goals in the victory over the Wolves.

Jona Schmitz, Carson Mapes and John Callaway added one goal each for Fox Valley Lutheran. Callaway had two assists and Schmitz had one.

Dominic Duncan made five saves for Winneconne. Nathan Hempel had 10 saves for Fox Valley Lutheran.

SEYMOUR 2, PULASKI 0

SEYMOUR – Austin Maass and Teig Driessen scored first-half goals and Seymour’s defense pitched a shutout to earn the win over Pulaski.

Maass’ goal came in the 12th minute with an assist from Ryan DeBruin. Driessen’s goal came in the 39th minute with an assist from Daniel Inman.

Mason Baker recorded one save for the Red Raiders. Patrick Robinson had five saves for the Thunder.

MENASHA 4, FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN 1 (THURSDAY)

APPLETON – The Bluejays scored three goals in the first half in the victory over the Foxes.

Mario Vera scored two goals for Menasha. Sam Salazar and Micah Christensen also scored.

FVL’s goal was scored by Ben Riehle, with an assist by Jonah Uhlenbrauck.

Angel Marinez-Abarca made five saves in goal for the Bluejays. Nathan Hempel had eight saves for the Foxes.

ST. MARY CATHOLIC 1, FREEDOM 1 (THURSDAY)

FREEDOM – The Zephyrs scored in the first half and the Irish scored in the second half in the tie.

Robbie Reisterer scored for SMC with assists from AJ Groppel and Felipe Gaztelu.

Freedom’s goal was scored by Cameron Jochimsen with an assist by Tony Drontle.

Hunter Schreiber had seven saves in goal for SMC. Eric Wolf had 14 saves for Freedom.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

BRILLION 3, RONCALLI 1 (THURSDAY)

MANITOWOC – Olivia Schuh had 10 kills and Natalie Rutkowski had 20 assists for the Lions in a 27-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-11 win over the Jets.

Rachel Fischer added seven kills and nine aces, and Megan Schuman had five blocks and six kills for Brillion.

OCONTO FALLS 3, WAUPACA 1 (THURSDAY)

WAUPACA – Emmie Magnin had 11 kills and Hailey Peitersen had 29 assists as the Panthers defeated the Comets 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24.

Quinn Eisch added 19 digs and Madison Uelmen had 12 digs for Oconto Falls.
