WINNECONNE 16, SHAWANO 14 (FRIDAY)

WINNECONNE – Mason Dorn nailed a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to secure the win for Winneconne.

Tyler Youngbauer accounted for both of the Wolves’ touchdowns. His first was a touchdown pass to Wyatt Thorpe in the first quarter. His second was a 1-yard run in the third quarter. Youngbauer completed 25-of-41 passes for 283 yards and rushed for 42 yards.

Thorpe was Youngbauer’s leading receiver, catching nine passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Ethan Mathe added seven receptions and 91 receiving yards for the Wolves.

Dylan Hodkiewicz rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown to lead Shawano’s offense.

HORTONVILLE 19, COLBY 13 (FRIDAY)

HORTONVILLE – The Polar Bears scored the final 10 points of the game to rally for the victory.

Sam Dodd scored on a 2-yard run late in the third quarter to give Hortonville a 16-13 lead and Drew Klein extended the lead with a short field goal in the fourth quarter.

Caden Healy had two rushing touchdowns for Colby.

FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN 22, LITTLE CHUTE 21 (FRIDAY)

LITTLE CHUTE – Drew Mears passed for 272 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 52 yards to lead the Foxes past the Mustangs.

Zach Johnson was Mears’ top target, catching 10 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Owen Gerhardt hauled in seven passes for 76 yards and Benett Reader reeled in four passes for 57 yards and a touchdown for the Foxes.

Kade Van Asten completed 16-of-22 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns to lead Little Chute’s offense. Caden Kerrigan hauled in five passes for 111 yards and one touchdown to pace the Mustangs in receiving.

BOYS SOCCER

FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN 2, APPLETON WEST 1

APPLETON – The Foxes scored two goals in the first half in the nonconference win over the Terrors at FVL.

Jona Schmitz and Carson Mapes scored for FVL. Ben Riehle had an assist on the goal by Mapes.

Appleton West’s goal was scored by Matthew Vande Walle.

Nathan Hempel made 10 saves in goal for FVL (8-6 overall), while Blayton Will had one save for West.

HORTONVILLE 4, MARSHFIELD 0

MARSHFIELD – After a scoreless first half, the Polar Bears erupted with four second-half goals en route to a shutout win.

Chase Laughlin paced Hortonville with two goals, while Rodrigo Castellanos Campos and Lucas Gosz added one each. Dylan Glad tallied two assists.

Nathan Bolling recorded two saves for the Polar Bears.

GREEN BAY PREBLE 3, APPLETON EAST 0

APPLETON – Tristen Shanoski scored two goals and Abraham Navarro scored one as the Hornets blanked the Patriots in a nonconference game.

AJ Gorenchan and Austin Spain combined for the shutout.

CEDARBURG 1, NOTRE DAME 0

CEDARBURG – Andriy Ovid scored the game-winning goal for Cedarburg in the 56th minute.

Alex Hough recorded seven saves and got the shutout for the Bulldogs.

OOSTBURG 2, MIDDLETON VARSITY RESERVE 1

OOSTBURG – The Flying Dutchmen scored one goal in each half to top Middleton in a nonconference game.

Griffin Hengst and Matthew Meke scored the goals for Oostburg. Meke also had an assist.

Carson Dekker tallied two saves for the Flying Dutchmen.

SHEBOYGAN SOUTH 3, BROOKFIELD ACADEMY 2

OOSTBURG – Giovanny Alba scored two goals to help the Redwings edge the Blue Knights.

Christopher Gallego scored the other goal for Sheboygan South.

Htoo Paw made seven saves for the Redwings.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

LODI INVITE

LODI – Marshfield went 2-0 in pool play and won the championship match against Wisconsin Heights to place first at the Lodi Invite.

Marshfield beat Richland Center 25-7, 25-13, 25-14, beat Belleville 26-28, 25-13, 25-13, 25-19, and beat Wisconsin Heights 25-23, 25-20, 25-14.

Leaders for the Tigers were Caitlyn Pernsteiner with 29 kills and 11 blocks, Casey Frankland with 23 kills and six aces, Reinya Balderson with 86 assists and six aces, Abby Ongna with 27 kills and 19 digs, and Ashlyn Barwick with 30 digs. Rylee Corteen added 25 kills and 11 blocks.

WRIGHTSTOWN INVITATIONAL

WRIGHTSTOWN – Hilbert notched a pair of wins against Wrightstown (20-25, 25-14, 15-8) and Omro (23-25, 25-23, 15-6) in pool play, beat Manitowoc Lutheran 26-24, 25-12, lost to Plymouth 22-25, 22-25, and beat Freedom 26-24, 25-21 for a third-place finish.

Leaders for the Wolves were Laney Halbach with 39 kills and 37 digs, Meghan Propson with 83 assists, Caitlin Raymond with 21 blocks and Aubree Diedrich with 41 digs.

St. Mary Catholic went 2-2 to place ninth at the tournament.

The Zephyrs fell to Freedom 23-25, 25-23, 10-15 and Manitowoc Lutheran 20-25, 15-25. They beat Omro 25-18, 25-17 and Houghton 25-13, 25-23.

Leaders for St. Mary Catholic were Ellie DeWitt with 63 assists and 15 digs, Jaydin Vosters with 30 kills and 13 digs, Lauren Fischer with 15 kills, 12 digs and five aces, and Megan Roloff with 21 digs and six aces.

CROSSOVER CHALLENGE

ABBOTSFORD – Stratford finished with a 1-2 record.

Stratford lost to Abbotsford 14-25, 18-25. Leaders for the Tigers were Tessa Berg with six kills and three digs, Megan Wiese with seven digs and five kills, and Ally Zuleger with 13 assists.

Stratford lost to Athens 23-25, 14-25. Leaders for the Tigers were Hailey Chapel with seven kills, six assists and four digs, Ava Weix and Wiese with six digs apiece, and Zuleger with nine assists.

Stratford defeated Chequamegon 25-19, 23-25, 15-6. Leaders for the Tigers were Berg with eight kills and five digs, Chapel with seven kills and five assists, and Zuleger with 18 assists and four aces. Wiese added five digs and five kills.
