UNDATED (AP) — The last three weeks have featured a team ranked in the top three of the AP college football poll losing to an unranked team. That streak will be tough to extend in Week 8. No. 1 Georgia is off. No. 2 Cincinnati is a four-touchdown favorite at Navy and No. 3 Oklahoma is favored by more than five touchdowns against Kansas. The best game of the week is taking place in the Pac-12 with No. 10 Oregon visiting UCLA and former Ducks coach Chip Kelly. Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickets gets the chance to make a Heisman case against Clemson.

UNDATED (AP) — Unranked Clemson travels to No. 23 Pittsburgh in a key cross-division matchup that features the ACC’s highest-scoring offense against the league’s stingiest defense. The Panthers lead the Coastal Division and Clemson, unranked by the AP for the third straight week, is still in the hunt for the Atlantic Division crown despite a double overtime loss at North Carolina State. Other games include Syracuse at Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech at Virginia, NC State at Miami, and Boston College at Louisville.

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Army has lost two straight games after starting the season with four wins and now faces another big challenge when No. 16 Wake Forest visits on Saturday. The Black Knights are coming off losses at Ball State and Wisconsin. The unbeaten Demon Deacons are 11-5 all-time against Army, but Michie Stadium is a tough venue for visitors. The Black Knights have won 13 in a row at home and will get an extra boost from a sellout crowd. It will mark only the third time this century that Army has hosted an AP Top 25 opponent.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Miami has never gone through something quite like this. Back-to-back losses, each by three points or less, and both coming when the Hurricanes had the ball inside the opponents’ red zone with a chance to tie or win the game in the final seconds. In nearly a century of football at Miami, that’s never happened. Until now. A season that started with high expectations for the Hurricanes has turned into a salvage operation, and Miami will seek to avoid its worst start in nearly half a century when it plays host to No. 18 North Carolina State on Saturday night.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh and star quarterback Kenny Pickett have a chance to make a statement when ACC power Clemson visits Heinz Field on Saturday. The Panthers are 5-1 and ranked 23rd in the AP Top 25 thanks in large part to Pickett. The fifth-year senior has 21 touchdowns and just one interception through six games. Pickett has struggled in his career against Clemson. He is 0-2 against the Tigers and has played poorly both times. Pickett says he’s doing his best to tune out the hype surrounding the game so the Panthers can focus on taking another step toward an ACC Coastal Division title.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville emerges from its bye ready to break a two-game losing streak. The Cardinals’ challenge against Boston College is making sure the Eagles don’t break through their defense in the clutch as others have in recent weeks. Louisville has hung tough in shootouts against No. 16 Wake Forest and Virginia, The Cardinals scored at least 33 points both times but only have a pair of losses by four total points for their effort, Louisville’s defense couldn’t make the stop it needed. BC aims to end its own slide, looking to bounce back from a 33-7 rout by N.C. State.

UNDATED (AP) — Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente sounds envious when he talks about the challenge his struggling Hokies will face against Syracuse. He says the Orange have found their identity — a quarterback and a top-flight running back in Sean Tucker, something his team can’t claim on either front. The Orange are winless in three Atlantic Coast Conference games, but lost two on the last play and one in the last minute. The Hokies are 1-1 in conference play and still in contention in the Coastal Division, but need to find some offensive answers. 

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia Tech doesn’t have much to show for its recent visits to Virginia. The Yellow Jackets have lost their last three football games on Virginia’s home field, and 12 of 14 since 1992. But coach Geoff Collins hopes that is about to change. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a bye week preceded by their first victory at Duke since 2013. They needed a last-minute touchdown to win that one 31-27. Virginia has won three straight and 15 of its last 17 at home. The Cavaliers also are coming off a 48-0 victory against the same Blue Devils.
