The Hawkeyes have won 12 straight and are coming off a dramatic come-from-behind win over Penn State in what was a battle of top-five teams. The Boilermakers have won three of the last four meetings. One of the best matchups pits Army’s triple-option offense against Wisconsin’s nation-leading run defense. Rutgers heads to Northwestern looking for a fourth win for the first time since 2017. Indiana is an underdog at home to No. 10 Michigan State. Nebraska visits Minnesota in the only other game.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Since quarterback Sean Clifford arrived on campus, Penn State has never been without his services for an extended period. Now, with their third-year starter nursing an unspecified upper-body injury, the No. 7 Nittany Lions might have to find a way to win without him. First, they need to figure out how to get the offense working again with backup Ta’Quan Roberson at the helm. After Clifford was knocked out of Penn State’s loss at No. 2 Iowa, Roberson entered and the offense struggled mightily. The Nittany Lions get a break this week. They will focus on getting Roberson more work with the first team before hosting Illinois on Oct. 23.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen doesn’t look like a typical 17-year-old. He doesn’t play like one, either. Allen graduated from high school early to begin his college football career this fall. He’s still getting accustomed to playing offense on a full-time basis after most colleges recruited him as a safety or linebacker. Allen had a breakthrough performance last week by rushing for 131 yards on 18 carries in a 24-0 victory at Illinois. He will try to build on that momentum Saturday when Wisconsin hosts Army.

UNDATED (AP) — Sometimes a big game really isn’t. No. 1 Georgia faces No. 11 Kentucky on Saturday, the third straight game for the Bulldogs against a ranked Southeastern Conference opponent. Georgia won the first two easily and the oddsmakers don’t expect this one to be much closer. Kentucky-Georgia is one of two games matching ranked teams in Week 7 of the college football season. The other has No. 12 Oklahoma State visiting No. 25 Texas.

DENVER (AP) — Olympic sports organizations will look into co-hosting championship events with the NCAA as a way of preventing the U.S. gold-medal pipeline from withering under financial pressure. The hosting partnerships were one of seven recommendations the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee released after several months of meetings between Olympic officials and college athletic directors across the country. More than 75% of the 613 U.S. athletes who went to the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year were products of an NCAA program. According to one recent estimate, U.S. universities combine to spend $5 billion a year on Olympic sports programs.
