New Delhi: Congress leader and former party president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that he would give women’s reservation when asked what would be the first thing he would do if he becomes Prime Minister.
Gandhi’s remarks come during a Diwali dinner that he hosted for some students from a school in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi.
The brother-sister duo had earlier this year visited St Joseph’s Matric Higher Secondary School during the campaigning trail in the state.
In a minute-long video shared by Gandhi on Twitter, one of the guests asked him, “What will be the first government order you will be publishing as soon as you become our Prime Minister?”
Rahul shared a minute-long video of Twitter of his interaction with the group. In the video, a guest asked, “What will be the first government order you will be publishing as soon as you become our Prime Minister?”
The Congress leader replied, “I would give women’s reservation.”
“If somebody asks me what would you teach your child; one thing – I would say humility, because, from humility, you get understanding,” he added.
