about the video

Scientists discovered a rare gas called phosphine in Venus’ atmosphere. The gas could be a possible sign of life – tiny microbes living in Venus’ clouds. The amount of phosphine detected was relatively large, raising more questions about the source. Phosphine is produced in lightning & volcanic activity too, but in small quantity. Only biological processes produce phosphine in similar amount on earth, as per scientists. Apart from microbes, there could be other non-biological sources of Venus’ phosphine. The team that made the discovery was led by Prof Jane Greaves of Cardiff University. Watch the full video for more details.
