For the Review

Five members of the IHM staff were recently presented the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s EdTech Ambassador Award which recognizes teachers that use creative use of technology to reshape their school community.

The teachers at IHM that were acknowledged for their industrious efforts to push the boundaries of classroom technology use were: Lauren Kemm (K), Bridget Foley (5), Ashley Kapuscinski (6), Liz Donohue (8), and Stacey MacDonald (8).

According to Aaron Heintz, the Director of Technology for the Archdiocese’s Office of Catholic Education, the AoP EdTech Digital Ambassador Award “celebrates the use of digital best practices and emphasizes a commitment to effective integration of technology within our schools.” Awards were based on the selection committee’s overview of lesson plans, student work samples, videos, and submitted photos.

Principal Patrick Foley is pleased as punch to have so many of his staff members recognized because it shines a glowing light on the innovative teaching methods that he sees on a daily from his dedicated staff. Despite having several faculty spots to fill in September, IHM’s quality of instruction hasn’t skipped a beat while the educational wheels keep humming along as another testament to the staff’s diligence.

It’s another feather in the cap for the school that was recently named an Archdiocesan “School of Distinguished Instruction” for 2021. The award is based on growth and exceeding potential as IHM students were able to meet or exceed 90% of expectations on all content areas covered by Terra Nova testing last spring.
