The Illinois high school fall sports programs allowed to start in the fall are gearing up for the quickly approaching season.
The sports of boy’s and girl’s golf, boy’s and girls cross country, girl’s swimming and diving, and girl’s tennis are among the high school fall sports allowed to play as originally planned.
Coming off a second place state final finish ,the QND boy’s golf team looks to take home the larger trophy this year.
Head QND golf coach Brian Hendrian talked about the upcoming season.
“We can start on Monday August 10th, were going to start that day, in the morning just like we would normal. The schedule is a little bit up in the air since we cant travel outside of our region and being golf we travel extensively so that’s about 80 percent of our schedule that needs to be redone. “
On the running side of things, QHS girl’s and boy’s head cross country coach Matt McClelland shared what his upcoming season may look like.
“Were going to go full steam ahead. And so now we have a week and a half until we really get going and then I think once the season starts we really don’t know much about how they are going to be able to host meets, how many teams. We do know right now they are looking at 3 teams per meet and so were just trying to kind of sort out a schedule from there.”
Practices begin August 10th.
