Air India is near putting historic orders for as many as 500 jetliners value tens of billions of {dollars} from each Airbus and Boeing because it carves out an bold revival below the Tata Group conglomerate, trade sources advised Reuters on Sunday.
The orders embody as many as 400 narrow-body jets and 100 or extra wide-bodies together with Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s and 777s, they mentioned, talking on situation of anonymity as ending touches are positioned on the mammoth deal in coming days.
Airbus and Boeing declined to remark. Tata Group didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
