The Indian authorities has moved a proposal to overtake the colonial-era legal justice system, which might see the contentious regulation on sedition being repealed so as to add new guidelines to cope with offenses of endangering the sovereignty of the nation.

The new legal guidelines will even improve punishment for organized crime, terrorism and instances of mob lynching, Home Minister Amit Shah mentioned in parliament. The focus will shift from defending the administration to defending residents, he mentioned.
