It’s all over and India beat Barbados by 100 runs to advance to the semifinals of Commonwealth Games 2022.

Harmanpreet Kaur bowls the final over and concedes one run as Barbados manage 62/8 in response to India’s 162/4.

Radha Yadav comes to bowl the penultimate over and concedes just two runs. 

17th over: Shafali Verma is introduced in the attack and she concedes three runs in her over.

18th over: Harmanpreet Kaur also gets her name in the wicket list as she dismisses Shaunte Carrington on 3(11). 

Barbados: 59/8 (18 overs)

Harmanpreet Kaur also decides to roll her arms. She does a decent job and just when it looked like a maiden over, Shakera Selman gets an outside edge which races for a boundary behind the wickets. Barbados: 54/7 (16 overs)

Radha Yadav too has found a wicket. A flat ball and Alisa Scantlebury gets an outside edge while attempting to cut the ball. However, her shot goes towards Deepti Sharma, who makes no mistake in the end.

Five runs come off the over as Barbados reach 50/7 after 15 overs

Meghna Singh picks a wicket as well. She dismisses Trishan Holder, who is caught by Harmanpreet Kaur at mid-off on 6(24). 

One run and a wicket come off the over. Barbados: 45/6 (14 overs)

Radha Yadav is introduced into the attack. The spinner concedes just three runs in her over, which also see a loud LBW appeal against Trishan Holder. Barbados: 44/5 (13 over)

10th over: Pooja Vastrakar keeps things tight and gives just two runs in her second over. 

11th over: Sneh Rana too is economical despite being hit for a boundary by Alisa Scantlebury. She concedes five runs. 

12th over: Meghna Singh, who was expensive at the start, returns for her second spell. She also makes a strong return as just two runs come off her over.

8th over: Pooja Vastrakar starts off with a six-run over. 

9th over: Sneh Rana provides India with the fifth wicket. She cleans up Kyshona Knight on 16(20). 

Barbados: 32/5 (9 overs)

Renuka Singh completes her four overs. She gives 10 runs and picks 4 wickets. BAR W: 25/4 (7 overs)

4th over: Deepti Sharma is introduced early and she starts off with a five-run over. 

5th over: Renuka Singh follows it up with an excellent over. She adds two more wickets to her tally to make it four. She first dismisses Kycia Knight, who plays the ball back on to the stumps. Following the dismissal, Thakur leaves Aaliyah Alleyne clueless with an incoming delivery, which knocks the stump on its way. 

6th over: Deepti Sharma keeps thing tight as just one run come from the six balls

Barbados W: 20/4 (6 overs)

Renuka Singh strikes again and this time she gets the wicket of Hayley Matthews. She departs for 9(7) as Barbados reach 11-2 after 3 overs.

Meghna Singh is getting some movement but is punished by Barbados captain Hayley Matthews with consecutive fours. She recovers well and almost gets an outside edge off Matthews in the third ball, before the batter rotates the strike. BAR W: 10/1 (2 overs)

The run chase starts and Renuka Singh provides India with the perfect start. She cleans up Deandra Dottin on 0 and gives just one run in her first over. BAR W: 1/1 (1 over)

Jemmimah Rodrigues completes her half-century in 44 balls. She came to bat in the second over and finished the innings unbeaten on 56(46). 

Meanwhile, Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma add a quick 70-run partnership off 43 balls for the fifth wicket as India finish at 162/4 after 20 overs. 

Deepti Sharma returns unbeaten on 34(28). 

Deandra Dottin bowls an excellent 19th over as just seven runs come in it. 

Meanwhile, Barbados have failed to maintain the required over rate and extra fielder has been placed inside the 30-yard circle as a penalty.

Deepti Sharma hits Aaliyah Alleyne for a huge six as 12 runs come off the over. IND W: 137/4 (18 overs)

Deandra Dottin comes to bowl and is whacked for a four by Deepti Sharma. Eight runs come off her over as IND reach 125/4 after 17 overs.

Jemimah Rodrigues switches gear as she hits Shakera Selman for a maximum. She hits Selman for another four and passes the strike to Deepti Sharma, the new batter, who is welcomed with a wide. IND W: 117/4 (16 overs) 

Jemimah Rodrigues charges down the track and hits the ball over the bowler Hayley Matthews head for a four. That shot also brings up the 100 for India.

While wickets are falling from the other end, Shakera Selman is keeping things tight by restricting the run flow. She gives just three runs in her over as India reach 95/4 after 14 overs.

The runs have dried up as Hayley Matthews concedes just 4 runs in the 11th over. That is followed by another economical over by Shakera Selman, who gives just two runs. 

However, Jemimah Rodrigues switches gear and hits Matthews for a four in the second delivery of the 13th over. Matthews recovers strong and dismisses Taniya Bhatia in the final ball of the over. The wicketkeeper-batter is caught on 6(13).

The ball hits Harmanpreet Kaur on the pad, looked plumb but the captain decided to take a review. TV replay shows the ball was hitting the stump as Barbados players rejoice.

A mix-up in the middle will bring an end to Shafali Verma’s stay in the middle. She departs after scoring 43(26). 

The plan was to steal a double but Jemimah Rodrigues was comfortable with one and she gestured towards Verma to stop. However, Verma was not looking at her partner and kept running before realising it was too late to turn back. IND W: 76-2 (9 overs) 

Aaliyah Alleyne bowls a decent over, with no boundaries. Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues rotate the strike as India reach 68/1 after 8 overs. 

Shafali Verma is dealing in boundaries. She hits Shamilia Connell for a six and follows it up with a four as India race to 63/1 after 7 overs. Verma is batting on 35(20).

Excellent bowling by Shamilia Connell as just one run come in the 5th over. 

Aaliyah Alleyne is introduced in the attack for the final powerplay over. She starts with a single, follows it up with two dots, before a misfield by Dendara Dottin gets Shafali Verma a four. 

The next ball is wide and Verma hits the bowler for another boundary towards the long-on region. She finishes the over with a single as 11 runs come off the over. 

India reach 50/1 after 6 overs.

Shafali Verma gets into the groove. She hits Shanika Bruce for two fours, putting the bowler under pressure. 

Bruce also concedes a boundary in the form of byes.

Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma hit Shamilia Connell for one boundary each as she concedes 12 runs in her over. IND W: 24/1 (3 overs) 

Jemimah Rodrigues is the new batter in and she gets off the mark with a four. 

Seven runs come off the over by Shanika Bruce as India reach 12 after 2 overs. 

Shanika Bruce strikes in her first over as she packs Smriti Mandhana on 5(7). 

She beats Mandhana with a tossed up ball as she tried to hit it across the line. However, fails to make any connection and the ball hits the bottom of her pads. 

The fielders are confident they’ve got the wicket but umpire think otherwise. DRS is taken and TV replay confirms that no bat was involved and the ball was pitched on the line and hitting the stumps. IND W: 5/1 (1.2 overs)

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma have arrived in the middle to kick-start the action. Shamilia Connell leads the attack for Barbados. 

Mandhana gets into action straightaway and pulls a length ball by Connell for a boundary. She attempts a similar shot but this time the ball will find the fielder as Mandhana rotates the strike.

India have made two changes in their line-up. Pooja Vastrakar, Taniya Bhatia return to playing XI.

Barbados Women win the toss and opt to field

After missing out on the services of Pooja Vastrakar in the first two encounters, the seamer will be up for selection in the third match.

Pooja and Meghna Singh had returned Covid-19 positive ahead of CWG 2022 but the duo have recovered. Meghna even featured in the match against Pakistan. 

Pooja’s services were missed in the opening encounter as the team could only field two regular seamers.

All eyes will be on star all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who recently broke the news of her retirement on social media. 

Barbados would want the star player to feature in the important clash, especially with the semi-final spot up for grabs.

Barbados too has won one game out of the two they played. They defeated Pakistan by 15 runs in their tournament opener before enduring a nine-wicket defeat against Australia in the following encounter.

India opened their CWG 2022 campaign against Australia, which Harmapreet and co lost by three wickets. They registered their first win against Pakistan, defeating the arch rivals by eight wickets in a rain affected contest.
