Satendra Siwal, a resident of Shahmahiuddinpur village in Hapur, shared secret paperwork associated to weapon methods of the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy together with warplanes and submarines, stated Rajeev Tyagi, ATS inspector in Meerut.
Mr Siwal is at the moment in 10-day ATS remand until February 16.
“Siwal came in touch with the woman last year who had made an online profile in the name of Pooja Mehra. She honey-trapped him and enticed him to share secret documents with her for money,” stated Mr Tyagi.
“Siwal has claimed that the documents he shared with the woman are still on his phone. The forensic examination of his phone and other gadgets used by him is being done,” the ATS inspector added.
The ATS in its probe by means of digital and bodily surveillance discovered that he was concerned in anti-India actions with the community of the ISI handlers.
The ATS officers additionally stated that the lady’s social media account was being dealt with by the Pakistan intelligence company.
The Meerut unit of ATS arrested Siwal, who was working because the IBSA (India-based safety assistant) within the Indian embassy in Moscow since 2021, on February 4 from Lucknow.
He was arrested after an FIR was registered in opposition to him on the ATS police station, Lucknow, beneath Section 121A (waging struggle in opposition to the nation) of the IPC and the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
During questioning, Siwal couldn’t give passable solutions and “confessed” to his crime.
The ATS had earlier stated that Siwal was offering vital confidential data relating to the strategic actions of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian navy institutions for cash.
The Ministry of External Affairs had stated it was conscious of Siwal’s arrest and dealing with the investigative authorities on this case.
Meanwhile, Siwal’s relations have left dwelling of their native village in Hapur, and moved to another place, police stated.
