TOKYO — India’s dependence on Russian oil has elevated to account for 30% of its imported whole in March, in response to a Nikkei evaluation of transport knowledge.

India, which had beforehand relied nearly solely on the Middle East, imported greater than 6 million tonnes of Russian oil final month. Western sanctions stemming from Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine have made oil from Russia comparatively cheap, resulting in the shift in procurement.
