Before the Covid-19 pandemic, most states covered telehealth appointments for behavioral health services in some capacity. But limitations in how patients could access those appointments, and limited reimbursement from insurers, meant most patients still couldn’t access these services.
Several temporary measures passed by states during the pandemic are changing that, and more permanent policies are being proposed by legislators. Here’s what has changed so far:
