WASHINGTON, D.C. – From Wednesday, October 7, to Thursday, October 8, 2020, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will virtually host the InnovationXLab Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) Summit: Building the Nation’s Quantum Economy. The InnovationXLab QIST Summit, organized by DOE’s Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) and Brookhaven National Laboratory, is the sixth in DOE’s InnovationXLab series: a showcase of the remarkable assets and capabilities of the Department’s National Laboratories. These summits facilitate a two-way exchange of information and ideas between industry, universities, investors, and end-use customers with Lab innovators and experts.
The rapidly evolving area of QIST is already demonstrating the potential to transform computing and communications. To ensure U.S. leadership in the new quantum economy, DOE, along with several other federal agencies, has made significant investments in QIST research. The InnovationXLab QIST Summit will connect leaders in the finance and banking, technology, communications, energy, transportation, life sciences, and materials sciences sectors to discuss how to accelerate QIST advancements that impact the Nation and world.
U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette will speak at the event, along with Under Secretary for Science Paul Dabbar. They will be joined by other industry officials.
Media wishing to cover the event should contact Miki.carver@hq.doe.gov, Jessica.szymanski@hq.doe.gov, and genzer@bnl.gov to register by October 2.
