The short-term truce in Gaza between Israel and Hamas has been prolonged by two days, Qatar and Hamas have mentioned.

The ceasefire was initially because of finish at 5am UK time on Tuesday 28 November.

However, a spokesperson for the overseas workplace of Qatar – which has been concerned in mediating the short-term truce – mentioned it will final an “additional two days”.

Spokesperson Dr Majed al Ansari mentioned: “The State of Qatar announces, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip.”
