Nicole, who’s now based mostly in Sydney, advised the Sky News Daily Podcast: “In the first few days they said they had enough food, and they had enough water, and people were stockpiling what they had – now though they’re saying it’s getting much more difficult.

“Huge strains of individuals queueing as much as try to get water, however with out electrical energy you may’t all the time function the pumps you must pump the water… it is completely determined.”

Samy told her: “This battle is completely totally different than the opposite. The different really, no one known as it a battle, they known as it a confrontation.

“But this time, it is a war. I can assure you it’s a war.”

Asil stated: “It’s 4am now and I couldn’t sleep. I’m just focussing on the news. I just lost my family through my mother’s side – we actually lost four.

“I’m simply specializing in the information, and I’m not sleeping – specializing in it.”
