New Delhi:
The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh’s Jogi is out. On Tuesday, the makers shared the film’s trailer. Diljit’s film is set against the Anti-Sikh Riots of 1984. The trailer features Diljit Dosanjh, Hiten Tejwani, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub among others. The trailer video starts by showing Diljit’s happy family, soon shifting to panic mode, when they hear gunshots. In the trailer, Diljit tries to flee the city and travel to Punjab as that’s the only place, where his family can find safety. The trailer shows riot-ravaged streets and a mass exodus of Sikhs. The makers call it “the biggest human heist” ever witnessed.

The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, also stars Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur, and Paresh Pahuja in important roles.
The anti-Sikh riots were fuelled in Delhi after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination by her Sikh bodyguards. The riots led to the death of many Sikhs, especially in Delhi. Many tried fleeing to Punjab to save their lives. Diljit Dosanjh’s character in the film is seen as one of the saviours, who helped the Sikhs flee the city.
Other than Jogi, Diljit Dosanjh will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film Chamkila, where the actor will play the character of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. The film will also star Parineeti Chopra in the lead.
Jogi will stream on Netflix from September 16. The film’s trailer was also shared by Diljit Dosanjh on his Instagram handle.
