about the video
Actor Kangana Ranaut commented on allegations of sexual harassment levelled against film-maker Anurag Kashyap. The latter allegedly harassed an actor during making of the film ‘Bombay Velvet’. Kangana said that what Kashyap did is common practice in ‘Bullywood’ – a play on the words Bollywood and bully. She claimed that struggling outsiders are treated as sex workers in the film industry. Kangana said that many ‘big heroes’ harassed her as well, but she settled her scores without needing a movement like #MeToo. However, many people do need such a movement, she added. Meanwhile, Kashyap spurned the allegations, calling them an attempt to silence his political dissent. However, chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, took cognisance of the allegations against him and asked the alleged victim to file a detailed complaint.
