The Karnataka State Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Board would be the nodal company for its implementation because the gig staff are categorised beneath unorganised labour sector.  Based on NITI Ayog 2022 knowledge, the federal government has pegged the variety of gig staff within the state at 2.33 lakh. It is estimated that there are 80,000 staff in Bengaluru alone. “However, we believe there are far more workers than this number,” an official within the Labour division mentioned.
