A person was arrested for allegedly strangulating his 19-year-old daughter to loss of life over her relationship with a person from a scheduled tribe, in Kolar district, police stated on Monday, including that this was a case of hate crime.

The arrest befell after the sufferer’s physique was exhumed within the presence of Kolara tehsildar Harshawardhan, and despatched for an post-mortem report on August 27. According to the police, the sufferer has been recognized as Ramya and the accused, her father as Venkatesh Gowda.
