National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday warned that the state of affairs in Kashmir may develop into like that of Gaza if an answer shouldn’t be discovered by dialogue between India and Pakistan.

“There is a statement of (PM Narendra) Modi ji that war is not an option now. (He said) we have to resolve issues through dialogue now. Where is that dialogue?” he stated in Srinagar.

He additionally stated that former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif was going to develop into the neighbouring nation’s PM once more. “He is shouting that they (Pakistan) will talk. What is the reason that we are not ready to talk?” Abdullah stated.

“If we don’t resolve this (Kashmir issue) through dialogue, then I am sorry to say that our fate will be similar to what is happening in Gaza and Palestine, who are being bombarded by Israel,” he stated. “I have always said what (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee ji had said that friends can be changed but neighbours can’t,” he stated.

BJP nationwide spokesperson Pratyush Kanth stated, “You cannot have state-sponsored terrorism and talk about peace. Mr Abdullah should first concentrate on what is happening in Kashmir. He should appreciate the very fact that peace has been reinstated in Kashmir and development is back. When 2 crore people come as tourists, it speaks volumes of the fact that normalcy is restored in J&K.”
