In the latest Shandaar Shukravaar episode, Amitabh Bachchan invites two talented actors from the industry Pratik Gandhi and Pankaj Tripathi. However, the actors hesitate to enter the stage and look nervous. Big B goes backstage to check why they are missing. Pratik and Pankaj give excuses saying it is not an auspicious time to enter.

Big B calls the guard to bring them inside. As they take the hot seat, Pratik feels grateful to hear his name from Big B. He talks about gaining weight in the web show Scam 1992. He had to gain 18kgs for his role.

Pankaj Tripathi reveals that since 25 years he has been honing his craft as an actor and his enthusiasm increases when payment is discussed. This statement makes Big B laugh.

Pankaj reveals that he had been a professional cook at a hotel in Patna. He would do theatre and at night he would cook. Big B asks Pankaj’s wife Mridula about his cooking skills. To which, his wife says that he has taught her how to cook.

The proceeds from their winning amount will be donated to Pandit Benaras Tiwari Hemanvanti Devi Foundation by Pankaj Tripathi (it is in his parents’ names) and Mukul Trust by Pratik Gandhi, respectively.

Big B requests Pratik to enact a dialogue from his show and the host enjoys the performance and also takes part in it.

After playing and winning Rs 20,000, Pratik seeks permission to ask the host a few questions. He asks questions like if he keeps the plastic cover in his new car. Big B says this is life’s truth and has seen many, who keep their cars guarded with plastic cover. When Pratik asks if he ever wiped his hands in his clothes after eating. Big B shares, ‘Once I had long beard and I would wipe it in my beard’.

They use first lifeline – Audience poll for this question: Before making his international debut, cricketer Jasprit Bumrah played for which of these Ranji teams? A. Saurashtra, B. Baroda, C. Gujarat and D. Mumbai.

Audience help them win Rs. 40,000 by selecting option C.

Pankaj reveals that he mostly knows cricketers through advertisements. Amitabh Bachchan says it happened to him once as well, when a kid ran past him calling him ‘Cadbury uncle’. He says, ’50 years of career is of no importance and this kid knows me through an ad.’

Big B asks Pankaj about his struggle days. He says, “When I was kid, we didn’t even have a matchbox in our house. To ignite a chulha, we would get a stick from somewhere to burn the chulha. There was a railway station far away and at 8pm every day that train would pass. Hearing the train engine’s sound we would realise that it is 8pm and that’s when we would eat and got to sleep. That train engine worked as an alarm. There were only 4 radios in the village we would all hear songs on them. In those days, stars and moon were our friends. I would sleep near tube well with my father so that nobody would steal it. I have had a simple life and I lead my life with simplicity.” He gets emotional while narrating incidents from his childhood.

Pratik Gandhi goes to enact a scene from a play ‘Mohan’s Masala’, which is based on Mahatma Gandhi. He reveals that once he performed this skit in three languages – Hindi, English and Gujarati in one day in Prithvi Theatre. His performance gets a standing ovation from Big B and Pankaj Tripathi.

Pankaj talks about a love letter he wrote to his wife’s family. He says that the entire letter was addressed to his wife’s family and ended with ‘Chhote ko pyaar’. He says that his wife understood the code language. When Big B asks Pankaj to share his love story, he says he is saving the original version for his book. He says, “I have shared several versions of my love story depending on the audience. I learnt the art of storytelling from my mother-in-law. But I am saving the original version for my book. I will get money from there.” Big B laughs hearing this. Pankaj adds, “I first proposed to her for marriage and when she asked why, I said, ‘Once you say yes to marriage, I will start dating you then.’”

Pratik Gandhi talks about his struggle days. The Scam actor stated that in 2006 while performing for a play, he first saw his wife Bhamini in the audience. Later, he learnt that she was also an actor. He revealed that he took two years to ask her out for a coffee. Opening up about his life, he told Big B, “I am what I am today because of my family. I will always have this guilt that I did not spend much time with my family. When my wife was pregnant, I did not have a house in Mumbai and I was way too busy in office. She was staying with her family during pregnancy. I was doing a play at that time and had also got my first film. When I asked her what should I do, she told me something which is still afresh in my mind. She said, “Main jaanti hoon agar tum ye nahi karoge toh khush nahi rahoge, toh tum ye kar lo baaki sab kar lenge.” He gave his wife a flying kiss who was sitting in the audience.”

A video footage of his wife Bhamini is shown, where she speaks about Pratik always having a positive mind. She shares, “In 13 years, we didn’t even take 13 vacations, but everything is forgiven. I am proud of you.” Seeing the video, Pratik says that though ‘Thank you’ is a very small word, he would still like to thank her.

When Big B asks Mridula that if she ever imagined Pankaj would be this famous, she says, “No. Honestly, we never thought of coming to Mumbai to become something. We just loved each other.”

They use Flip the question lifeline for the question: The Samadhi of Kasturba Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s wife, is situated at which of these historical places in India? A. Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad, B. Aga Khan Palace, Pune, C. Sevagram Ashram, Wardha and D. Birla Bhavan, New Delhi.

The correct answer is option B.

The new question they get is – Who became the youngest UN Messenger of Peace in April 2017? A. Malala Yousafzai, B. Pinki Sonkar, C. Yara Shahidi, D. Great Thunberg. They correctly answer option A.

After playing the game, Pankaj tells Big B that now they have settled in the show comfortably. He finally gains courage to tell Big B to enact a dialogue from his film. Big B mouths the famous dialogue – ‘Aaj khush toh bahut hoge tum’ and then he makes Pankaj and Pratik enact the same in Bhojpuri and Gujarati language.

They use the last lifeline – Ask The Expert for Rs. 12,50,000 question: To estimate the population of which animal did a state government in India use a method called Poonam Avlokan in 2020? Options – A. Asiatic Lion, B. Royal Bengal Tiger, C. Hangul and D. Elephant. The expert answers option A and they win the amount.

The question for Rs. 25 lakh is – The Government of India is planning to build the National Maritime Heritage Complex at which of these historical places in India? A. Hampi, B. Konark, C. Lothal, D. Mahabalipuram.

Not sure of the answer, they decide to quit the game. The answer was option C. They take home Rs. 12,50,000.
