Russell E. Diethrick Jr., chairman of Jamestown Community Baseball, LLC, announced Friday the signing of Jacob T. Kindberg as Director of Business and Sales Operations for the Jamestown Tarp Skunks.

Kindberg, who will work alongside Director of Baseball Operations Jordan Basile, brings valuable sports industry knowledge and experience to the Tarp Skunks, including two seasons as the senior account executive with the Erie BayHawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans.

“It is with great anticipation that we prepare for the return of collegiate baseball to Jamestown’s historic ballpark,” Diethrick said. “We couldn’t be more excited about the energy and enthusiasm that Jacob brings to the position.”

Kindberg comes to the Tarp Skunks having recently returned from Madrid, Spain, where he was teaching English. Prior to his two seasons with the Erie BayHawks, Kindberg worked in the athletic department at Robert Morris University as a game-day operations assistant, as an operations intern with Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc., and as an intern with the Jamestown Jammers. He is well versed in sport business best practices at both the collegiate and professional levels.

“I am honored and excited to be part of the Tarp Skunks organization and to return to the Jamestown community,” said Kindberg, the son of Tim and Maria Kindberg. “I’m looking forward to developing strong ties with businesses and fans in our community. We’ll build on the organization’s previous success and provide the best summer entertainment in the area.”

A Jamestown native, Kindberg is a graduate of Jamestown High School and Robert Morris University where he earned a degree in business administration with a concentration in sports management.

The Jamestown Tarp Skunks are a member of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, a collegiate summer baseball league with teams across New York state. After postponing the 2020 season due to COVID-19, the league is set to resume play in June of 2021.
