The stalemate between the protesting college students and the Kolkata Medical College and Hospital authorities continued as a scheduled assembly between the protesters and senior state Health Department officers over the demand for the scholar council elections on Tuesday was cancelled.
Seven college students of the school are presently on a starvation strike.
The Health Department officers maintained that no assembly can be held until the scholars name off their strike, sources stated.
“This strike cannot go on forever,” stated Kolkata Medical College principal Indranil Biswas.
