The Lieutenant Governor (L-G) of Delhi, V Ok Saxena inaugurated a sports activities advanced on the Qutab Garh Village on Tuesday within the presence of Member of Parliament Hans Raj Hans and different dignitaries.
The basis stone for the advanced was laid in October 2023 and developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at a value of Rs 2.5 crore.
It features a multipurpose playfield, jogging observe, two badminton courts, a volleyball courtroom, akhara for men and women, kabaddi floor, open gymnasium tools with a rubberised flooring and different services.
Additionally, the sports activities advanced has a multipurpose air-conditioned corridor spanning 216 sq. metres.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Saxena mentioned, “I am confident that many players from Qutab Garh will represent India at International level and bring laurels and medals for our country. I want children to get advanced training in various sports facilities, for which Indian Oil and Indian army have agreed to provide experienced coaches and very soon we will get to see advanced coaching facilities.”
The L-G additionally expressed his appreciation for the Authority’s contribution in growing Qutab Garh village, which he has on many events claimed to develop as a mannequin village.
DDA has beforehand established 16 sports activities complexes, three mini sports activities complexes, two public golf programs, 17 swimming swimming pools and 40 multigyms.
Along with this, Centres of Excellence are being constructed in a number of sports activities like wrestling, weight lifting, boxing, judo, kabaddi, tennis, capturing, soccer, and hockey throughout Dwarka.
