Apple has an event scheduled for Tuesday, September 15. The event is expected to be for the unveiling of new Apple Watches including a more affordable variant that has been unofficially dubbed the Apple Watch SE. Now, the Apple leaker, Jon Prosser, has revealed some key details of this affordable Apple watch.
According to tweets posted yesterday, the Apple Watch SE will be available in two sizes – 40mm and 44m – and each size will come in GPS and cellular variants. The tweets also include the codenames for each size and variant.

With respect to design, the Apple Watch SE will look like the Apple Watch Series 4. However, it will not have an always-on display and ECG which should not be surprising seeing as Apple is trying to keep the price low. He also stated that the watch will come with an M9 chip.
The M-series of Apple chips is a line of motion coprocessors that used to be separate chips for older iPhones but have now been integrated into the main processor. The M9 chip was integrated with the A9 chip for the iPhone 6s and it allows for step tracking including changes in distance and elevation. It also allowed for “Hey Siri” to be always on.
There is no info yet on the price of the Apple Watch SE but we presume it may start at $199.
